Our Story: A Legacy Reimagined
Sofie Faes, former COO of Sempre Life and Christophe Durant, entrepreneur took over the reins from the former shareholders in December 2023 and both embarked on a journey to honour the legacy of its founders, Chantal Mertens and Gommaire Cleybergh.
Sofie and Christophe knew that they were not just inheriting a company founded in 2001; they were entrusted with the task of carrying forward the founders’ commitment to sustainable sourcing of materials, organic and natural-shaped furniture, and unmatched craftsmanship. Bearing this in mind, Sofie and Christophe are determined to not only maintain but elevate these principles.
Central to the Sempre’s philosophy is an attention to detail and to oversee every aspect of the design and manufacturing process as each piece should meet the highest standards of quality. At Sempre we also believe that the beauty of imperfection should be celebrated, and this philosophy shines through in our designs and collections.
